With Christmas just around the corner, there are so many things to ask Santa for. Of course, this being a Nikon Coolpix Camera website, I’m going to recommend asking for a Nikon.
There are a number of things to keep in mind when looking for a digital camera. I have found that there are a number of cameras that offer a display screen that pivots and allows you to hold the camera at unusual angles and still see the screen. This is a fantastic feature and I’m amazed that every camera manufacturer hasn’t started doing this. One of my first digital cameras, and still favorites, was the Nikon Coolpix 950. You could hold it low to the ground, or above your head, and pivot the view screen so you didn’t have to put your body in akward positions to see the subject you were aiming at. For some reason Nikon stopped making cameras with this feature for quite a while but I’m happy to see that they are starting to appear again. Another great feature to look for is a small digital camera that allows you to add small (screw on) lenses. This is great because you can make your point-and-shoot into a fantastic wide-angle camera, or even a macro-camera!
Whether you buy something for yourself, or for a loved one, keep Nikon in mind. It’s a gift that will be sure to bring smiles (in front or behind the camera).
